Playing with Toys to Make Machines that Make Fabric

This is inspired play. Never in my years of childhood mastery of Tinkertoys, Legos, Lincoln Logs and Erector Sets, had I ever risen to this level of engineering.

This beautiful insanity mixes play with purpose. Toys become tools to make product. I’m particularly inspired by the precision of the Erector Set loom. Bonus points for weaving a diamond twill. However, the award for sheer inventiveness goes to the Lego loom, which barely resembles how a traditional loom operates, but still gets the job done.
